Does a trainers body language impact a training session?

The purpose of a training program is to impart the right skills to trainees by transmitting appropriate knowledge. It becomes possible only when you get the message across effectively. Even brilliant processes and ideas become ineffective in improving your trainees’ performance if they are not delivered effectively.

Successful communication is one in which the speaker and the listener are on the same page and so understand and convey the same message. There are various channels, apart from the spoken word, for the listener to derive the meaning of anything said. This includes gestures, eye contact, stress and intonation. etc. All these should be in parlance for the message to reach the listener intact. Otherwise, the message may not have the intended effect on the listener. Therefore, the speaker must see that his body language supports his spoken word. This is very true even for a trainer.
